What's included in the plans?

Materials Lists
In order to secure “apples to apples” construction bids, it essential to provide contractors or building materials suppliers with an acurate list of all the materials that will be necessary to complete your project. Each plan includes a carefully compiled materials list that clearly specifies the amount and type of materials needed  for the construction of your new garage.
Instructions
The Success of every building project depends on a series of correctly choreographed properly, properly executed stages of construction.   With that in mind, you’ll appreciate the step-by-step  construction instructions that are included with each plan. From beginning to end,  our instructions that we will take the uess work  out of what to next and will even provide guidance on proper construction techiniques.

Elevations (front, rear, left, right)
The front of your garage may get all the attention, but as just one element  of the design, it certainly couldn’t stand alone.  The sides and rear are just as important (maybe even more so to your neighbors).  Each of our plans includes a scaled technical drawing of what the structure will look like from all sides.  Such views may offer helpful insights during the early stages of your project, in case you decide to add extra windows or utility doors.

Foundation Plans
The foundation often goes unseen, or at least unnoticed, but it’s key to the proper construction of any structure.  Each of our garage designs includes a detailed plan for laying a solid, level foundation-whether monolithic slab, block, or poured wall.  Be sure to check with your local building department before construction, to ensure code-compliant footing depths and/or slab thicknesses.

Framing Section (front, rear, left, right)
The framework of a structure is literally its skeleton and needs to be built with care and precision.  Our framing sections will help you or your contractor to do just that. Each section is drawn at ¼” scale and clearly shows the spacing of the wall studs, as well as the location of structural support elements for doors and windows.

Floor Plan
Whether you’re building a simple one-car garage, or a more complicated apartment-over-garage design, our floor plans will play a critical role in the project. Drawn to ¼” scale, each of these technically drafted construction drawings shows the design’s precise measurements from a “bird’s eye” view, looking straight down.  Floor plans are the most utilized construction drawings and are referredto throughout the duration of the project.

Rafter Template
At first glance, building the roof of a garage may look like the easiest part of the entire project.  But unless you’re a whiz at geometry, you might begin to think otherwise when you start cutting the rafters-unless you’re using our rafter template.   This helpful guide, included with every plan, specifies the correct board lengths and angles that need to be cut for the proper construction of the roof.

Cross Section
A cross section drawing essentially shows a slice of “how things go together,” from the base of the foundation’s footings, to the top of the roof’s ridge.  This element of the construction drawing is a valuable tool for all trades who are involved in the project.
